APRIL 10 MLB TWO FREE PICKS

We picked up another win yesterday with an easy cover on the under of the Indians 2-0 win over the Tigers. This makes our MLB record 8-3 on the season and up 9.8 units so far.  Here are our plays for Tuesday April 10.

Detroit Tigers at Cleveland Indians  6:10pm EST

th-1

Projected Starters: Tigers: Boyd (0-1, 1.50 ERA) at Indians: Tomlin (0-1, 24.00 ERA)

Tigers projected starter Matt Boyd, pitched six innings in a 1-0 loss to the Royals in his first start this season, allowing four hits and only one run. In Boyd’s career he is 1-2 against Cleveland, despite having an earned run average of only 1.91 over 28 1/3 innings pitched.

Indians projected stater Josh Tomlin will hope for a better result than he experienced in his last start. On April 3, Tomlin completed three innings, allowing 8 hits, 8 earned runs and four home runs against the Angels.

Over his career, Tomlin is 6-5 when starting against Tigers with an ERA of 4.84. Despite the rebuilding movement in Detroit, current Tigers hitters still have a lifetime .308 batting average against Tomlin.

With the Tigers currently an underdog in the range of +170 to +185, I feel like this is a good opportunity to take the Tigers to pull off the upset.

My pick: Detroit Tigers Moneyline +182

New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox  7pm EST

red_sox_yankees_logo

Projected Starters: Yankees: Severino 2-0, 1.38 ERA) at Red Sox: Sale (0-0, 0.82 ERA)

Both projected starting pitchers in this match-up have been great so far this season.  Luis Severino comes in with a 2-0 record, 1.38 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 14/4 strikeout to walk ratio over 13 innings this season. Current Red Sox hitters have a career .226 batting average against Severino, with Andrew Benintendi by far having the most success (6 for 14, 2 HR 7 RBI).

In his first two starts this season, Red Sox pitcher Chris Sale has only allowed one run over 11 innings. Sale has a 0.82 WHIP on the season with 15 strikeouts against three walks.  Current Yankee hitters have a .183 career batting average against Sale with only one home run (Tyler Austin) in 126 at bats. Aaron Judge is 0 for 12 against Chris Sale with 10 strikeouts.

The Under is 5-2 in Severino’s career starts against Boston. The Under is 8-4 in Sale’s career starts against the Yankees.

At this moment some sportsbooks still have the total at 7.5 but I expect that the line will end up at 7 by game time. I definitely expect a low scoring pitchers duel here.

My pick: UNDER 7.5 Runs

Good luck everyone!

APRIL 9 MLB FREE PICK

We spilt yesterday with no loss or gain in profit. This makes our MLB record 7-3 on the season and up 7.8 units so far.  I feel that the line on today’s pick will change quickly so I want to give a very quick prediction.

Detroit Tigers at Cleveland Indians  6:10pm EST

Projected Starters: Francisco Liriano (1-0, 1,35 ERA) at Indians: Corey Kluber (0-1, 2.40 ERA)
Cleveland’s last four games have gone under including the last three games at home. The Tribe have only scored a total of eight runs over those last four games. Corey Kluber will be on the mound for Cleveland and the under is 2-0 when he starts this season.

Five of the last six Detroit Tigers games have gone under.

With the cold weather in Cleveland and the pitching match-up I like the under here.

My pick: Under (8.0 runs)

Good luck and play ball!

APRIL 8 MLB FREE PICKS

The Rockies picked up the 3-2 win over the Braves in the 10th inning last night, giving us a 6-2 record on the season and up 7.8 units so far. For the second time this season, we have a two pick MLB day

Miami Marlins at Philadelphia Phillies  1:35pm EST

Projected Starters: Marlins: Trevor Richards at Phillies: Jake Arrieta
Jake Arrieta will be making his debut with the Phillies. In his career Arrieta is 3-0 when starting against the Marlins with an earned run average of 1.38.  This Marlins lineup appears to be even weaker than what Arrieta has faced against Miami in the past. Through the first eight games of this season, the Marlins hitters are tied for last in all of MLB with only two total homeruns hit as a team.

Marlins rookie right-hander Trevor Richards will be making his second career start.
Richards allowed five runs on eight hits over 4 1/3 innings against Boston in his debut.

The Marlins are currently on a four game losing streak where they have been outscored 36-6. All six of the Marlins losses this season have been by more than one run. The Phillies are big favorites here, rather than laying the juice we are playing the run line for much better value.

My pick: Phillies (-1.5)

Los Angeles Dodgers  at San Francisco Giants  4:05pm EST

Projected Starters: Dodgers: Clayton Kershaw at Giants: Ty Blach

This is the same pick we won with on opening day this season when Ty Blach outdueled Kershaw on the way to a 1-0 Giants victory.

In his career Kershaw is 22-10 when starting against San Fransico with an ERA of 1.58. The under is 24-7-2 in the last 33 starts that Kershaw has made against the Giants.

Ty Blach seems to love pitching aginst the Dodgers; he is 3-2 when starting against them with an ERA of 1.41.  The under is also 5-0 in Ty Blach’s career starts against the Dodgers.

My pick: Under (+7.0)

Good luck and play ball!

APRIL 7 FREE MLB PICK

Yesterday we did not make any MLB plays. Currently we are 5-2 on the season.

Here is your free play for tonight.

Atlanta Braves at Colorado Rockies 8:10pm EST

Projected Starters: Braves: Anibal Sanchez vs Rockies: Chad Bettis

At this moment I am not sure that Atlanta starter Anibal Sanchez be trusted. For his career Sanchez is 4-0 when starting against Colorado with an ERA of 1.77, however Sanchez has not faced the Rockies since 2014 when he was a very different pitcher. Since 2015 Sanchez is 20-30 with a 5.63 earned run average.

Rockies projected starter, Chad Bettis has won five out of his last six home starts against teams with a winning record. Last season Bettis threw six shutout innings against the Braves at home in Colorado.

I like the Rockies here as home favorites after dropping the series opener.

My Pick: Colorado Rockies Money Line -133

APRIL 5 FREE MLB PICK

Yesterday the Yankees won 7-2 making our pick on the Yankees-Rays under 8 runs the first MLB loss for us this season.

So keeping score, this makes us 5-1 on this season’s Major League Baseball plays, all of which have been free. Hopefully we can get back on track with a win for you here.

Cincinnati Reds at Pittsburgh Pirates 7:05pm EST

Projected Starters: Reds: Homer Bailey vs Pirates: Steven Brault

Reds starter Homer Bailey is 6-2 all time when pitching at PNC Park with an 2.48 earned run average there. Bailey was impressive in the season opener against a Washington Nationals team that has owned him in the past. In that game Bailey went six innings and allowed only one run, on the way to a 2-0 defeat.

The Reds opened the season being swept by the Nationals at home, then they came back to beat the Cubs 1-0 in the only game of that series. The second game of the series was postponed Tuesday, and then the Reds were off yesterday, so Cincinnati is coming into this game with a rare two days off.

The Pittsburgh Pirates swept the Detroit Tigers to open their season, in a weird series were two games were originally postponed, which forced one double header. The Pirates won the season opener of that series 13-10 with the help of a very controversial call. After the 3-0 start, the Pirates split a two game series with the Twins.

Pirates projected starter, Steven Brault picked up the win in relief of the 13-10 victory over the Tigers. Brault has only made 11 career starts. He is 2-3 with a career earned run average of 4.56 and WHIP of 1.69.

With the +124 value on the Reds, you need to win just 46% of games to come ahead. With the Pirates currently -135 favorites  you would have to win 57% of your bets to profit.

These are division rivals who I feel are pretty even. The Reds are only 1-3 right now, while the Pirates are 4-1. However, the Reds have had a more difficult schedule so far. These teams will go back and forth this season and tonight the value is on the Reds.

My Pick: Cincinnati Reds Money Line

APRIL 4 FREE MLB PICK

Yesterday the Astros won 10-6 making our pick on the Astros -1.5 a winner. Our other pick was the over between the Cubs and Reds, which was rained out.

So keeping score, this makes us 5-0 on this season’s Major League Baseball plays, all of which have been free. We have one play for today in an early game. Hopefully we can make it six in a row for you.

Tampa Bay Rays at New York Yankees
Projected Starters: Rays: Blake Snell vs Yankees: Luis Severino 1:05pm EST

Severino was 2-0 with a 2.00 earned run average against the Rays last season in three starts.  Although the Rays do have mostly a new lineup from last season, so far it appears to be one of the weakest lineups in the American League. The Rays have scored 13 runs so far this season, with six of those coming in the opening game. As a team the Rays are batting .195 through the first five games

Rays starter Blake Snell was impressive in his last start, a 1-0 loss to Boston, where Snell did not allow any runs over 5 2/3 innings.

In his career Snell is 2-2 against the Yankees with an ERA of 3.71. The over is 3-4 in those games.

My Pick: UNDER 8 Runs

APRIL 3 MLB FREE PICKS

Starting off with low volume but now 4-0 to start the season! Hopefully we can keep it going with two more winners for you tonight.

Chicago Cubs at Cincinnati Reds
Projected Starters: Cubs: Jon Lester vs Reds: Cody Reed 6:40pm EST

Reds 24 year old projected starter, Cody Reed has a 6.75 career ERA and 1-8 record.  He made his only start in 2017 against the Cubs, allowing seven earned runs over just two innings of work.

Jon Lester did not look sharp in his first start of the season against the Marlins allowing seven hits, three walks and four runs, against the Marlins over 3 1/3 innings.

When facing the Reds in Lester’s career the over is 10-2.

My Pick: OVER 8.5 Runs

Baltimore Orioles at Houston Astros
Projected Starters:
Orioles: Mike Wright vs Astros: Justin Verlander 8:10pm EST

Yesterday we picked the Astros -1.5 and we were successful with the Astros winning 6-1 in the home opener. I don’t expect another sellout crowd, or for emotions to be running as high as they did the day before, but I still think the Astros are a strong play again.

Baltimore is off to an 1-3 start and has not yet scored a run off of a starting pitcher this season.  Things won’t get any easier for Baltimore with Justin Verlander on the mound for Houston.

Orioles projected starter Mike Wright will be making his first start since 2016. Last season he posted a 5.76 earned run average in 13 relief appearances over 25 innings. Wright has made, 21 career starts and 43 appearances with a ERA of 5.86 and 6-9 record.

The Astros have outscored their opponents 28-12 so far this season, while the Orioles have been outscored 6-21.

My Pick: Houston Astros (-1.5)

APRIL 2 MLB FREE PICK

Baltimore Orioles at Houston Astros
Projected Starters: Orioles: Chris Tilman vs Astros: Charlie Morton  7pm EST

Since joining the American League in 2013 the Astros are 5-0 in home openers and have won all five of those games by at least two runs. This game, will be a home opener like no other for Houston. The Astros will be honored before a sellout crowd, where their World Series banner will be raised and rings will be unveiled.

Emotions will be high, but Charlie Morton will be starting for Houston. Morton was the winning pitcher of last seasons World Series game seven, where he allowed one run over the final four innings, killing any late hopes the Dodgers had.

The Orioles will start Chris Tillman. Tillman was 1-7 with a 7.84 earned run average while dealing with some shoulder soreness last season. Chris Tillman is coming off of an underwhelming spring training where he was 1-1 with an 8.03 ERA and only four stikeouts over 12 1/3 innings.

I expect Houston to roll.

My Pick: Houston Astros (-1.5) Two Units
