This game has UNDER written all over it. Of course anything can happen, so bet responsibly, but on paper all signs point to the UNDER.
Current Nationals hitters have a career .204 batting average against Steven Matz. Matz has also only allowed more than 3 earned runs twice this seaon in 17 starts. However, Matz has had several starts where he did not go very deep into the game.
The Mets offense has been terrible lately, and Max Scherzer going for the Nationals does not look like a receipe for success. Before the Nationals 18-4 win in Scherzer’s last outing, there were 7 runs or less scored in seven straight Scherzer starts.
The UNDER is 17-8 in the Mets last 25 home games.
