MLB FREE PICKS- TUESDAY APRIL 17

Monday was a tough day in MLB but a great day in the NBA!

We went 2-0 in our NBA picks with the Warriors -9.5 and the OVER 215.5 in the 76ers-Heat game.  However in baseball we were 0-2.

We took a chance with the underdog Texas Rangers who lost 8-4. Then in what looked to be a win, we saw the New York Mets head into the 8th inning with a 6-1 lead, only to allow six runs in that inning on their way to an 8-6 loss to the Washington Nationals. This drops our record to 11-10 on the season in Major League Baseball.

The show goes on today.  Due to some postponed games and late lines, there is a good chance that we will be playing at least one more game later today.

Miami Marlins at New York Yankees 6:35pm EST

Projected Starters: Marlin Garcia (0-0, 1.13) at Yankees:  Tanka (2-1, 5.19 ERA

50/50 would I pick the Marlins? No. But with these odds do I think they have a better chance then the value indicates? Absolutely.

Jarlin Garcia comes in with a 1.13 ERA average on this season. This includes pitching six innings of no hit baseball against the Mets and six innings of one hit ball against the Cubs.

Make sure to list Jarlin Garcia as the starting pitcher for the Marlins when making this pick. There is positive value here even if the Marlins lose by a run.

My Picks (2 parts):

Part 1: Miami Marlins moneyline (+267.0) One Unit

Part 2: Miami Marlins +1,5 (+133) One Unit

St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago Cubs 7:05 pm EST

Projected Starters: Cardinals: Wainwright (0-0, 5.06  at Cubs:  Chatwood (0-2, 4.91 ERA)

Cubs projected started Tyler Chatwood is 0-2 with a 7.36 ERA in four career games against the Cardinals.

Adam Wainwright is 10-2 with 3.79 career ERA at Wrigley Field. Value is on the Cardinals

My Pick: St. Louis Cardinals moneyline (+119.0) Two Units

***Currently we are still looking at several other games and this could turn into a 4 or possibly 5 pick day.  The rest of the picks will be available before game time to our subscribers.

Wednesday May 25 MLB Picks

Chicago Cubs at St. Louis Cardinals (Cubs Moneyline -170)

Cubs (Arrieta 8-0, 1.29) Cardinals (Martinez 4-4, 3.56)

imgres
Cubs are 9-0 when Arrieta has taken the mound this season

I am going to keep this real simple. Jake Arrieta is 8-0 and Cubs are 9-0 when he starts.  Betting on Jake Arrieta has not failed yet and there is no reason to jump ship now.  I’m picking the Cubs to win.

San Diego Padres at San Francisco Giants (Padres Moneyline +130)

Padres (Shields 2-6, 3.07)  Giants (Peavy 1-5, 8.21)

James Shields has lost twice to the Giants this season in 1-0 and 3-1 games. In those games he lost to Johnny Cueto and Jeff Samardzija. The Giants are 8-0 against the Padres this season, however the Padres have not yet face Jake Peavy this season, who has struggled.

After losing eight straight to the Giants this season, it is time for the Padre’s luck to turn around. I like San Diego as the underdog today.

Wednesday May 11 MLB Picks

Six MLB picks for Wednesday May 11

Chicago White Sox at Texas Rangers (Under 9 runs -115)

White Sox: (Latos 5-0, 2.62 Rangers Hamels 4-0, 2.68)

The 9 run over/under is on the high end seeing how well both of these starters have pitched. Unders are 18-13-3 in White Sox games this season. I expect a pitchers duel under 9 runs.

Oakland Athletics at Boston Red Sox (Red Sox -1.5, Even)

Athletics (Surkamp 0-2, 5.59)  Red Sox (Porcello 5-1, 2.95)

The Red Sox have scored a total of 27 runs in the first two series games against the Athletics. Oakland has also lost eight of their last nine games. The A’s are expected to lose, so the odds on picking the Red Sox are only -185.  I am taking the Red Sox -1.5 with the odds allowing us an even profit.

Detroit Tigers at Washington Nationals

*Two Picks (Over 7 Runs -110 and Tigers Moneyline +140)

Tigers (Zimmerman 5-1, 1.10)  Nationals (Scherzer 3-2, 4.60)

Two aces face their former teams in an expected pitchers duel.  The over is 22-10 this season when the Tigers play.  The Tigers are averaging 6.4 runs against National League teams this season, and the Tigers have faced some very good pitching during interleague play. Schrezer is second in MLB with nine home runs allowed. I like the chances of over seven runs being scored in this game.

It will be interesting to see how both pitchers match-up against their former teams. In the first two match-ups of the series the Tigers had a starting pitching disadvantage, and both of those games ended 5-4, with each team winning a game.  The Tigers are good value here at +140 to win.

St. Louis Cardinals at Los Angeles Angels

*Two Picks (Over 7.5 Runs-120 and Cardinals Moneyline -132)

St. Louis: Garcia (2-2, 3.05)  Angles (Shoemaker 1-4, 9.15)

Shoemaker has been recalled from AAA to make a start since the Angeles have four starters on the disabled list. Garcia was very sharp in his start allowing only two hits and no runs in seven innings against the Phillies.  With Shoemaker pitching, I like the chances of this game going over 7.5 runs, I also like the Cardinals to win.
