Alamo Bowl-Oregon Ducks vs TCU Horned Frogs (Prediction Jan. 2)

The Alamo Bowl should provide as much entertainment as any other bowl game. The Oregon Ducks and Texas Christian Horned Frogs, have a lot similarities, and I expect a shootout in San Antonio.th

After a 3-3 start, the Ducks have put together a six game winning streak, averaging almost 45 points a game during the stretch. The winning streak includes a 38-36 win over eventual PAC-12 champion Stanford. The Ducks however, also give up a ton of points and rank 116th in the country for total defense.

TCU ranks 66th in total defense, but the Horned Frogs suffered a huge loss offensively, Thursday morning when quarterback Trevone Boykins was arrested.

If you run through all the numbers, both teams are very similar. TCU has been better defensively, although the Horned Frogs are far from a defensive juggernaut. The Ducks do love to run the football, and rank 5th in the nation is rushing yards per game.

Overall, expect offensive to lead the way, the Ducks average over 43 points per game, and The Horned Frogs average just under 42.th-1

The Ducks come in as the hotter team, finishing 5-1 against the spread after getting off to a 2-4 start on the season. TCU is 6-6 and 2-0 as an underdog ATS.

I liked the Ducks in this match-up and placed my bet when the game was still a Pick’em, now with Boykins out, the line has climbed to Oregon -7. I still like the Ducks, but I’m locked in at Oregon EVEN line.

Oregon 49 TCU 38
