APRIL 3 MLB FREE PICKS

Starting off with low volume but now 4-0 to start the season! Hopefully we can keep it going with two more winners for you tonight.

Chicago Cubs at Cincinnati Reds
Projected Starters: Cubs: Jon Lester vs Reds: Cody Reed 6:40pm EST

Reds 24 year old projected starter, Cody Reed has a 6.75 career ERA and 1-8 record.  He made his only start in 2017 against the Cubs, allowing seven earned runs over just two innings of work.

Jon Lester did not look sharp in his first start of the season against the Marlins allowing seven hits, three walks and four runs, against the Marlins over 3 1/3 innings.

When facing the Reds in Lester’s career the over is 10-2.

My Pick: OVER 8.5 Runs

Baltimore Orioles at Houston Astros
Projected Starters:
Orioles: Mike Wright vs Astros: Justin Verlander 8:10pm EST

Yesterday we picked the Astros -1.5 and we were successful with the Astros winning 6-1 in the home opener. I don’t expect another sellout crowd, or for emotions to be running as high as they did the day before, but I still think the Astros are a strong play again.

Baltimore is off to an 1-3 start and has not yet scored a run off of a starting pitcher this season.  Things won’t get any easier for Baltimore with Justin Verlander on the mound for Houston.

Orioles projected starter Mike Wright will be making his first start since 2016. Last season he posted a 5.76 earned run average in 13 relief appearances over 25 innings. Wright has made, 21 career starts and 43 appearances with a ERA of 5.86 and 6-9 record.

The Astros have outscored their opponents 28-12 so far this season, while the Orioles have been outscored 6-21.

My Pick: Houston Astros (-1.5)
