APRIL 10 MLB TWO FREE PICKS

We picked up another win yesterday with an easy cover on the under of the Indians 2-0 win over the Tigers. This makes our MLB record 8-3 on the season and up 9.8 units so far.  Here are our plays for Tuesday April 10.

Detroit Tigers at Cleveland Indians  6:10pm EST

th-1

Projected Starters: Tigers: Boyd (0-1, 1.50 ERA) at Indians: Tomlin (0-1, 24.00 ERA)

Tigers projected starter Matt Boyd, pitched six innings in a 1-0 loss to the Royals in his first start this season, allowing four hits and only one run. In Boyd’s career he is 1-2 against Cleveland, despite having an earned run average of only 1.91 over 28 1/3 innings pitched.

Indians projected stater Josh Tomlin will hope for a better result than he experienced in his last start. On April 3, Tomlin completed three innings, allowing 8 hits, 8 earned runs and four home runs against the Angels.

Over his career, Tomlin is 6-5 when starting against Tigers with an ERA of 4.84. Despite the rebuilding movement in Detroit, current Tigers hitters still have a lifetime .308 batting average against Tomlin.

With the Tigers currently an underdog in the range of +170 to +185, I feel like this is a good opportunity to take the Tigers to pull off the upset.

My pick: Detroit Tigers Moneyline +182

New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox  7pm EST

Projected Starters: Yankees: Severino 2-0, 1.38 ERA) at Red Sox: Sale (0-0, 0.82 ERA)

Both projected starting pitchers in this match-up have been great so far this season.  Luis Severino comes in with a 2-0 record, 1.38 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 14/4 strikeout to walk ratio over 13 innings this season. Current Red Sox hitters have a career .226 batting average against Severino, with Andrew Benintendi by far having the most success (6 for 14, 2 HR 7 RBI).

In his first two starts this season, Red Sox pitcher Chris Sale has only allowed one run over 11 innings. Sale has a 0.82 WHIP on the season with 15 strikeouts against three walks.  Current Yankee hitters have a .183 career batting average against Sale with only one home run (Tyler Austin) in 126 at bats. Aaron Judge is 0 for 12 against Chris Sale with 10 strikeouts.

The Under is 5-2 in Severino’s career starts against Boston. The Under is 8-4 in Sale’s career starts against the Yankees.

At this moment some sportsbooks still have the total at 7.5 but I expect that the line will end up at 7 by game time. I definitely expect a low scoring pitchers duel here.

My pick: UNDER 7.5 Runs

Good luck everyone!
