No video today due to the early starts today on my favorite plays. Today’s pick is not exactly ground breaking stuff, but most importantly I want to give you a winner.
Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles 3:05 PM EST
Sometimes you just can’t over complicate things. Sale has actually lost his last three starts, twice as a large favorite of more than -200. Despite his recent three game slide, Sale has only allowed more than three earned runs in one of his 14 starts this season. As good as Sale has been the Red Sox are only 7-7 when he starts this season, but six of those seven wins have been by more than one run.
In Sale’s career against the Orioles he is 5-2 with an earned run average of 2.57.
The Baltimore Orioles are schedule to start Yefry Ramirez, who has been called up from Norfolk. At the AAA level this season Ramirez is 3-4 with a 4.33 ERA. Ramirez has however pitched much better in his last three minor league starts, but has not thrown more than 94 pitches this season. I expect the Orioles bullpen to get involved fairly early in this game.
The Red Sox have covered the first two games of this series on the run line, both in games where the Orioles should have had a better chance than they do today.
